Frequently Asked Questions
What materials are used for Eyelash extensions?
Lash extensions come in a variety of materials. The most common are made out of synthetic polyester, silk and mink, and can range in length from short to very long. KikiLashes offers Premium Eyelash; Extensions of either Mink, Sable or Siberian Authentic mink.
All our products are cruelty-free.
How are the eyelash extensions attached?
With specialised lash glue. The glue we use is the most advanced and safest medical grade glue. However, we do strongly advice that a patch test be done during our consultation for eyelash extensions. For those clients with sensitive eyes or any sort of allergies, this is just a way to ensure there will be no further reactions after the semi-permanent eyelash extensions are done.
Can I wear mascara with eyelash extensions?
You can, but the brush could potentially pull on your lashes and cause them to be damaged, loosened, or removed. Additionally, you should avoid waterproof mascara and should only apply mascara at the tips of lashes. Plus, you may find you do not need any at all once you have got these!
Can I use eye makeup remover while I have them?
When you remove your makeup, just be extremely careful and do your best to avoid touching the lashes. Use a gentle eye makeup remover with a cleansing wipe rather than cotton balls or Q-tips, which can result in fibers being caught on your extensions. Do not use an oil-based makeup remover, as oil-based products can affect the glue negatively.
Should I be worried about having eyelash extensions?
Kiki Lashes is the only eyelash extensions salon in Sydney to offer Antibacterial eyelash extensions.
Why antibacterial eyelash extensions?
There are germs all around us that can’t be avoided even with extra care. Many people find it hard to wash their faces thoroughly while keeping their eyelash extensions. As a result, there is a risk of multiplying germs around the eye area. Keeping our eyelashes clean and protecting against eye infections are challenges that we face. Some eyelash extensions are sterilised and coated immediately after they are made and before packaging. However, this doesn’t protect the products from germ growth after the opening of the package. Antibacterial eyelashes are bacteria-free and will protect your eyes from the time you have them on until they fall off.
What are antibacterial eyelash extensions?
Antibacterial eyelash extensions are special high grade synthetic eyelashes, which have had antibacterial material kneaded into them to prevent from bacterial growth.
How do I take them off?
We strongly recommend going to a professional to have your eyelash extensions removed, as they are trained in the process and know how to do it properly without damaging your own lashes or pulling the natural ones out along with the fake ones.
Common Questions
What are eyelash extensions?
Lash extensions are a way to can add thickness and length to lashes that are not as lush, dark or long as you currently want them to be. Professionals apply false lashes–typically one at a time for the most natural look–to your lash line using an adhesive that is safe for the eye area.
Is it safe to wear them constantly? Does it affect the growth and health of your real lashes?
Eyelash hair grows from the root so the natural lashes will not be affected by the application of lash extensions. They can therefore they can be worn continually provided that the correct after-care regarding maintenance and removal is followed.
How long does the treatment take?
The duration of your lash appointment depends on the treatment you choose.
A classic lash set typically takes about one hour, offering a timeless and natural look.
For a lash lift, you can expect the service to last around one hour and a half, giving your natural lashes a beautifully lifted appearance.
For more intricate treatments like 6D volume lashes, the process can take up to three hours to achieve a bold and dramatic effect.
At Kiki Lashes, we take the time needed to ensure every detail is perfect, leaving you with flawless, long-lasting results tailored to your preferences. Your lash artist will discuss the process and timing during your consultation.
Are lash extension for everyone? Can you have them even if your lashes are super short or really fair?
Yes, eyelash extensions are for everyone.
Very fair people can have a lash tint prior to the application of extensions. Those with shorter and finer lashes can have more light weight lash extensions applied.
Do You Use Cruelty-Free Products?
At Kiki Lashes, our aim is to use only cruelty-free and non-animal lashes for all our services. We prioritise ethical practices and high-quality materials to ensure our clients enjoy luxurious lashes with a clear conscience.

Do they last forever?
No.
Your natural lashes fall out every 60 to 90 days, but we do not notice when they fall out quite as much because there’s already a new lash growing behind it.
False lashes are often thicker and longer than your natural lashes, so when they fall out, you may wind up noticing it more.
With lash extensions that are adhered to your natural lashes, they can fall out anywhere from a week to a couple months down the road. Typically, you will need to get them replaced every six to eight weeks.
